Trinbago Knight Riders Win Their First 6IXTY Men’s Competition Match

The Trinbago Knight Riders won their first match in the “6IXTY Men’s Competition” with a 47 run victory against Guyana Amazon Warriors at Basseterre, St Lucia, Friday.

Defending 95 runs, Warriors reached 48 for 6 off 8.1 overs.

Heinrich Klaasen top scored with 25 not out which came off 19 balls and included three fours for the Warriors.

Earlier, taking first strike, TKR made 95 for 4 from their allotted 10 overs.

Tion Webster made 27 runs from 22 balls.

His innings included four boundaries.

Terrence Hinds contributed 23 runs from nine balls.

Hind’s time at the crease was made up of two fours and two sixes.

Barbados Royals defeated TKR in their opening match on Thursday by three wickets.

In the day’s other match, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, which is captained by Trinidadian Evin Lewis who made 22 runs, won by three wickets with 24 balls remaining in their game against St Lucia Kings.

Scores in the game, Kings 66 runs off 8.4 overs.

Johnson Charles top scored with 28 runs, off 14 balls, with two fours and three sixes.

Patriots in reply scored 72 for 3 from six overs.

Captain Lewis made 22 runs while Sherfane Rutherford contributed 24 not out.

At 5:30 this afternoon, Barbados Royals will play against Jamaica Tallawahs.
