Tory Lanez still not able to reach a plea deal in Megan shooting case

According to Rolling Stone, Tory Lanez has not been able to reach a plea deal in his felony assault case even despite “meaningful discussions” with prosecutors regarding his case with rapper Megan Thee Stallion.

However, the rapper’s defense lawyer Shawn Holley confirmed that her client’s plea of not guilty “stands.”

Holley appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom Wednesday and agreed to return with her client on December 14 for his preliminary hearing.

Rolling Stone reports that a Deputy District told the court she expects to put on about 90 minutes of testimony as it is necessary to send the matter to trial.

As it was previously reported, Tory Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, allegedly shot the “Savage” rapper at her feet around 4:30 a.m. on Jul. 12, 2020, after the pair left a Hollywood Hills party and got into an argument in an SUV.

He’s facing up to 22 years and eight months in prison if convicted as charged for felony assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.

He’s also facing the added allegation he “personally inflicted great bodily injury.”
