Tobago’s first mass vaccination drive through for COVID-19 to kick off from Saturday

On Saturday from 8am Tobago’s first mass vaccination drive through for COVID-19 will be operational.

The site is the Shaw Park Complex Car Park Scarborough.

The Division of Health, Wellness and Family Development in the Tobago House of Assembly says no appointment is necessary.

In a media release, the Division says the seven day exercise makes it easy for members of the public to stay inside their vehicles and get the vaccine shot with minimal waiting time.

The Division says the public / private sector partnership team will set up shop at the Shaw Park Complex from July 31 st to August 6th, 2021, 8 am to 4 pm each day.

It says a drive through vaccination drive will be held in East Tobago as well.

The Division says details will be shared subsequently.

Secretary of Health, Wellness and Family Development, Assemblyman Tracy Davidson- Celestine said: “we have the supply of vaccines, a competent method of delivery, and easy accessible points.

The Health Secretary said the private and public sector came together for this.

The Division said persons who want to access the COVID-19 vaccine via the drive through method must adhere to the requirements.

Persons must be 18 years and over, except pregnant women, walk with a valid form of National ID, Passport, or Drivers Permit).

Walk with vaccination card (if available), persons receiving the vaccine must be seated by a window in the vehicle.

There is a vehicle height restriction of eight feet. Persons who previously tested positive for COVID-19 must wait three months before receiving the vaccine
