Tobago man escapes death running into a woman’s home

A Tobago man is nursing gunshot wounds to his jaw and back following a shooting on Sunday night, which saw the victim running and hiding inside a woman’s house.

Officers of the Roxborough Police Station were told that the victim was with a friend in front of Countryside Sports Bar on Windward Main Road, Goodwood, when a masked gunman wearing a long sleeve blue jersey and pants emerged from behind the bar and approached them.

The gunman aimed the weapon and fired at Miller, who immediately began running onto Cambridge Street, where he forcefully entered a woman’s house and hid beneath a table.

Miller sustained gunshot wounds and told the shocked woman to notify the police.

When officers arrive, they took the man to Scarborough General Hospital where he is currently in stable condition.

Police recovered two discharged 9mm shells in addition to a single round of 9mm ammunition from the scene.

Investigations are ongoing.
