Three houses were destroyed during an early morning fire at Observatory Street in Port of Spain.
No one was injured in the blaze.
However, two fire officers who were assessing the blaze were wounded.
The officers were assessing the fire from above via a hydraulic lift, which malfunctioned and collapsed.
One officer reportedly sustained a broken leg.
Both are now seeking treatment at Port of Spain General Hospital.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
