Three-day search for Aneicia Lewis comes to a tragic end

A three-day search for ANNEICIA LEWIS came to a tragic end on Sunday morning with the discovery of her body at the mouth of the Diego Martin river.
Around 6:50 am police officers recovered a female body South West of the Bagatelle River in the vicinity of the La Riviera Towers Westmoorings.
Yesterday, officers received a telephone call which led the TTPS Coastal and Riverine Unit to the discovery of drifting body. The officers were able to retrieve and bring the body to shore which was then identified by Abbion Phillip the brother of the deceased.
Ms. Lewis, 36, of Bagatelle Road Diego Martin was reported missing on September 3rd.
According to reports made at the West End Police Station, around 1 pm on September 3rd, Ms. Lewis and a friend decided to take a walk along a track which leads to the falls in Fond Palmiste, at 2 pm there was a heavy downpour which made the path nearly impassable.
Ms. Lewis decided to turn around and head out because of the rising waters.
A search party was formed, which consisted of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service’s (TTPS) Air Support Unit, Coastal and Riverine Unit, Cyber Crime Unit, the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service Santa Cruz Search and Rescue unit and the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force Camp Ogden.
