Three children are hospitalised with a condition called MIS-C

Thoracic Medical Director at the Caura Hospital, Dr. Michelle Trotman, confirmed that there are three children hospitalised at the Couva facility with a condition is called MIS-C (Multi-System Inflammatory Syndrome in Children).

Dr. Trotman made the revelation during the COVID-19 media briefing at the Office of the Prime Minister this afternoon – she said the children contracted the inflammatory syndrome as a result of contracting COVID-19.

However, Dr. Trotman said they are being monitored and are in fine spirits.

Dr. Trotman continued to warn citizens about the virus but also urge adults to remember that while they’re out and about, sanitise, wash their hands and pay close attention to their children.
