THA Chief Secretary likely to form his own political party

THA Chief Secretary Farley Augustine is likely to form his own political party.

This is the suggestion coming from respected Tobago economist Dr Vanus James.

Dr James told News Power Now earlier in the week that he was seeking to encourage talks between Mr Augustine and Watson Duke to resolve their conflict.

The duo had a public war of words which resulted in Duke having Augustine and several others removed from the PDP’s Executive Leadership.

Many anticipated a long a bitter battle in determining the way forward.

However things took a different turn yesterday when Mr Duke unexpectedly called a press conference to publicly announce his resignation from the post of Deputy Chief Secretary.

With Mr Augustine removed from the post of PDP deputy political leader Dr James said Mr Augustine is likely to use his time in the THA to build public trust and confidence before launching out onto his own.
