There will be a temporary traffic disruption on the Eastern Main Road at the 31km mark, in the vicinity of the Immigration Detention Centre, Aripo on Wednesday November 15th ,2023 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The Ministry of Works and Transport says this is necessary to conduct the pouring of concrete for the replacement of a cylinder crossing.
During this period, a minimum of one lane will be allowed on the roadway.
Travel time delays will be experienced.
Commuters may use Demerara Road, Cumuto Main Road and the Churchill Roosevelt Highway as alternative routes.
The public is advised to comply with the following directions:
Proceed with extreme caution and observe all directional signs and barriers.
Comply with instructions issued by Police Officers and Traffic Wardens, Flagmen, where necessary, in order to facilitate a safe and orderly flow of traffic.
Be aware of heavy equipment entering and exiting the work site.
