Tacarigua supermarket robbed of $30k in cash

Approximately $30,000 in cash was stolen from Laing’s Supermarket at Benny Street in Tacarigua on Friday night.

The bandits also made off with thousands worth of cigarettes, a cell phone and two speakers.

Around 7:30 pm, three suspects, one visibly armed with a gun, entered the business while the fourth remained in the driver’s seat of the gold-coloured Nissan Almera motor car Reg. No. PBU 7031.

The thieves robbed the business owner of $30,000 cash, his iPhone 13 Promax valued at $9,400, an assortment of cigarettes valued at $7,036, and two speakers valued at $400.

PC Roopnarine of the Arouca CID is probing the incident.
