Supermarket Association Laments “Out Of Control Crime”

The Supermarket Association of Trinidad and Tobago is concern and distress about the continuous rise and intensity of criminal activity.

It says this is hampering public confidence and commercial retail activity.

In a media release on Friday, the SATT said the clamor for Firearm Users License by the business community comes at a time when there is a debate about whether the licenses obtained by some persons were deemed to be illicit or ill gotten.

It said in that instance, the association welcome the prosecution of those persons so the legitimate needs of the business community, who continue to cower in fear of the criminal element, are met with some empathy by the office of the Commissioner of Police.
