Southern Task Force detains 3, seizes firearm, ammo and camo

Officers attached to the South Division Task Force arrested three suspects and seized firearm, ammunition, camouflage and illegal narcotics during crime eradication exercises on Monday.

Between the hours of 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm officers conducted an intelligence led exercise in the Princes Town Police district.

Several Drug Blocks in the Princes Town area were targeted and several persons searched; three persons were arrested for the following:
1) A 39-year-old, labourer of Indian Walk Moruga Road was charged by PC Boodram for the offence of wearing camouflage clothing.
2) A 21-year-old, labourer of Iere Branch Road Princes Town was charged by PC Gervais for the offence of possession of firearm and ammunition.
3) A 33-year-old, labourer of King Street, Princes Town, and Punnette Avenue, Pinto Road, Arima was also charged by PC Gervais for the offence of Possession of firearm and ammunition.

The exercise was coordinated by Snr Supt Hospedales, ASP Phillip, Insp Ramlogan, Sgts Joseph, Mason, and directly supervised by Cpl Phoolchan and included officers of the Southern Division Task Force.
