Southern Division officers arrest one, seize two guns

One man was arrested and two firearms and quantities of ammunition seized during weekend anti-crime exercises.

In the Southern Division, Task Force officers acting on information, proceeded to Flowerpot Beach, Pointe-A-Pierre, around 8:10 am on Sunday 21st April, 2024, where they searched a male suspect.
The search resulted in one revolver loaded with four rounds of ammunition being found in the suspect’s possession.

The 25-year-old male suspect of Claxton Bay was arrested in connection with the find.
In a separate exercise, officers of the Penal Police Station acting on information received, proceeded to Gopie Trace, around 3 pm yesterday, where they conducted a search of a bushy area.
The search resulted in officers finding a sawed-off shotgun along with two cartridges.

Investigations are ongoing into the two above matters.
