A member of the T&T Defence Force, reportedly killed a bandit at a bar in Tabaquite.
Central Division police are investigating the incident involving a Lance Corporal who reportedly shot and killed two attackers.
According to ADD News TT that the soldier was at the Ecstasy Bar on the Tabaquite Main Road at around 4:00 AM on Saturday when a man pointed a gun at him and shouted, “Yuh go dead today!”
“The soldier was able to take away the attacker’s gun and subdued him.
Not long after another man helped the gunman and walked away towards a nearby basketball court.
The soldier followed both men to assist the police when one of the men shouted at the soldier to give him back the gun which he seized earlier.
The man and soldier fought before the soldier drew his service-issued pistol and shot the man.
The confiscated gun fell during the struggle as the second man picked it up.
The soldier shot him as well.
The men were conveyed to the Couva Health Facility where they were declared dead on arrival by Dr. Sita Ramsingh.”
