Shots fired on Valencia Police station

Officers of the Valencia Police Station are investigating a shooting which occurred at the police post on Sunday night.

Reports state that at around 11.55 pm, PC Ramphal was on sentry duty at the post when he heard several loud explosions outside.

Upon investigations, PC Ramphal received information that a white-coloured Nissan Sylphy was heading past the police post in an easterly direction when the vehicle stopped and several shots were heard. The driver then sped off along the Valencia Old Road.

An all points bulletin was put out for the vehicle and the suspects but the search was futile.

Crime Scene Investigators found four .9mm ammunition casings at the scene.

No one was injured, nor was there any visible signs of damage to the property.
