Police have launched a search for the man who attacked and raped a Marabella woman while she was walking home during the early hours of Saturday morning.
The 30-year-old woman told police that just after midnight on Friday, she was walking along John Street, Marabella, when she was approached by a man of African descent who was armed with a cutlass.
She said the man dealt her several blows with the cutlass, then took her to an abandoned lot along the same street where he raped her.
She described the man as being about five feet nine inches tall, dark in complexion, slim built with short hair and was wearing a black long pants and grey T-shirt.
The victim was taken to the Princes Town District Health Facility where she was medically examined.
