PM Rowley brands Windies an “amateurish embarrassment” after Netherlands defeat

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has joined the growing number of cricket fans in the Caribbean who have laid into the West Indies cricket team following their embarrassing defeat to the Netherlands in the ICC World Cup Qualifiers.

The Windies put up a sizable 374 in their fifty overs as was expected against a nation known for football more than cricket.

However, they failed to successfully defend their total and let the Netherlands draw even.

The game went to a Super Over decider where the Netherlands posted 30 runs with 3sixes and 3 fours.

The former ICC World Cup Champions managed just 8 runs in response, losing two wickets in the process and their chances of qualifying for this Cricket World Cup hang in the balance.

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley was among those bashing the team describing the team as an “amateurish demoralizing embarrassment” and the game as “THE WORST CRICKET MATCH ever played by a West Indies team”.
