Road Safety, Traffic Enforcement High On The TTPS Agenda, Assures Road Safety Project Coordinator

The number of road fatalities for the year this far, 19, has prompted the Police Service to increase it appeal to both motorists and even pedestrians to exercise caution when traversing the nation’s roadways.

TTPS Road Safety Project Coordinator Sgt Brent Batson says while figure represents a 14 per cent decrease when compared to the same period last year, persons must prioritise safety.

Speaking with the media, Sgt Batson said traffic law enforcement efforts will continue to focus on high-risk driving behaviours..

He added that Commissioner of Police, Erla Christopher, has road safety and road traffic enforcement as one of the organisation’s strategic priorities towards both road casualty reduction and anti-crime efforts.
