A woman was found dead in Port of Spain on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as 72-year-old Joanna King of Duke Street, Port-of-Spain.
Around 5pm, residents of an apartment complex detected a foul stench emanating from King’s apartment.
The residents made several attempts to contact her but she did not respond.
They subsequently contacted the police who arrived at the scene and discovered the elderly woman’s decomposing body in the apartment.
A DMO was summoned to the scene, viewed the body and ordered its removal pending a post mortem.
