The Ministry of Works and Transport says rehabilitation works at a landslip at Chatham Main Road, 96km mark are currently ongoing.
It explains this is contrary to comments in the public domain.
In a media release on Monday the Ministry said the works are expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2023.
In addressing this landslip, the Ministry said it has been challenged with the ongoing inclement weather conditions, which have led to high saturation levels.
Additionally, the presence of naturally occurring springs at the site has necessitated the Ministry and its contractor to revise the approach to be adopted for executing the project.
On Sunday, Minister of Works and Transport, Rohan Sinanan, visited the site accompanied by Geotechnical personnel who are currently developing a permanent solution for the landslip.
