Princes Town Regional Corporation Pleads For Adequate Funding To Repair Landslips

The Princes Town Regional Corporation is calling on the Minister of Finance to ensure the Corporation receives sufficient funding and assistance to repair the numerous landslips within the region.

The appeal comes from Chairman of the Princes Town Regional Corporation, Gowrie Roopnarine.

On Thursday the Chairman and Council moved a motion at the 34th Statutory Meeting requesting additional funding for landslips so the Corporation can be placed in an equitable position with the other Municipal Corporations to conduct landslip repairs.

Chairman Roopnarine acknowledged the Princes Town Corporation made a special request for thirty million to repair and stabilize landslips throughout the region.

However, the Corporation did not receive any allocation under this special request heading as indicated in the Draft Estimates for 2023.
