Prime Video surpasses Netflix as the No. 1 streaming service in the U.S

Prime Video has supplanted Netflix as the No. 1 subscription streaming outlet in the U.S.

The annual ranking was compiled by research firm Parks Associates.

The company didn’t disclose its methodology for how it isolates the number of Prime Video subscribers, due to Amazon’s general reluctance to disclose statistics about its Prime business.

The list reflects total subscribers through September 2022, via the OTT Video Market Tracker.

The chart released by Parks Associates documents the top 10 OTT streaming services in the U.S. from 2019 to 2022. Netflix, Hulu, and Prime Video have remained the top 3 each year, but this is the first time Netflix has not come out on top.

Disney+ was close to cracking the top 3 this year, with Hulu and Disney+ switching spots each year since 2020.
