Police in Alabama were left stunned when they discovered that the suspect in an armed carjacking who led them on a high speed chase turned out to be an 8 year old boy.
Montgomery police officers were called to a scene of a carjacking where the victim informed them that his car had been stolen by a minor with a gun.
After obtaining the description of the car, police issued an alert.
They eventually spotted the vehicle and attempted to pull it over, but the driver refused to stop.
Police pursued the stolen car for some time before it eventually crashed into another vehicle.
Once the car stopped, police detained the driver and discovered that the perpetrator was just 8 years old.
He was handed over to juvenile justice authorities and has been charged with robbery, fleeing police and illegally possessing a firearm.
