Farley alleges bribery, corruption and police misbehaviour in residence search

Mr Augustine is alleging bribery, improper political influence, corruption and police misbehaviour regarding the warrant obtained to search his residence.

Officers attached to the TTPS white collar crime unit visited Augustine’s official residence in Lowlands on Monday and searched the premises for almost 4 hours.

The search is believed to be connected to the investigation into a leaked audio recording allegedly involving THA officials discussing the use of THA funds to finance party propaganda.

The officers spent over three hours at the Chief Secretary’s residence and seized a number of items during the exercise.

During today’s THA assembly sitting, Mr Augustine questioned the means by which the warrant was obtained.

He claimed that his lawyers have been instructed to write to the police Commissioner, the Police Complaints Authority, the Director of Public Prosecution and President Her Excellency Christine Kangaloo on the matter.
