The PNM has officially opened nominations for two upcoming Local Government by-elections.
The nomination period was announced as May 9th to 5pm on May 15th 2024, with screening to begin shortly after for nominees.
Polls are due in Lengua/Indian Walk following a deadlock in last year’s Local Government Election.
That result was challenged, however the Appeal Court recently upheld a High Court ruling that the EBC acted correctly in rejecting a disputed special ballot, resulting in a tie.
A by-election is also due in Morne Diablo/Quinam, following the death of UNC councillor Diptee Ramnath in December last year.
A date for the polls is yet to be announced.
