PM Outlines Criteria Used To Determine Senior Counsel Status

Prime Minister, Dr Keith Rowley, has provided information on the criteria used to determine who is awarded Senior Counsel Status.

Dr Rowley said one of the factors which the individuals must possess is that they must have over ten years experienced.

He said fifty-seven persons applied for the status.

Speaking at a news briefing held at the Diplomatic Centre, St Ann’s Tuesday afternoon, said where the applicants stand in their profession, integrity and capacity are some of the elements which the persons must have.

Dr Rowley said the selection is made not based family connections.

The Prime Minister said he took an oath to ensure fairness and transparency and this he has done.
