The Progressive Empowerment Party (PEP) has appointed Limma McLeod Wilkinson as its new interim Political Leader.
In a statement, the PEP said it is pleased to announce a significant development in its leadership structure.
It said after extensive deliberation, the Deputy Political Leaders expressed their “ heartfelt appreciation to Phillip Edward Alexander for his dedicated fight against corruption and injustice in Trinidad and Tobago, as well as his role in inspiring aspiring politicians to become better leaders.”
It said with mixed emotions, they acknowledge and accept Alexander’s resignation and wished him the best in his future endeavours.
The PEP added that upon careful consideration, they have appointed Limma McLeod Wilkinson as the Interim Political Leader, effective immediately. She will be supported by Akil Camps and Marissa Persad-Parboo as her Deputy Political Leaders.
“Simultaneously, we are in the process of sanctioning a draft interim Constitution and initiating the restructuring of the party, a meticulous procedure expected to conclude within the next few months.”
