Pensioner dies in early morning fire in Barataria

A 76-year-old pensioner died in an early morning fire in Barataria.

Winston Blake, who lived in a house at 7th Avenue, Malick, Barataria, was reportedly burnt beyond recognition inside his home sometime during the early hours on Tuesday 25th July.

Arson is suspected as reports state that Baptiste was engaged in a heated argument with several people in the area on Sunday and a number of items were removed from the pensioner’s home.

This follows an incident last Saturday, in which another pensioner – 75-year-old amputee Collin Andall, was also killed in a house fire at Springvale, Claxton Bay.
