As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to adversely impact families throughout the country, Heritage Petroleum Company Limited celebrated its third (3rd) anniversary by donating food hampers and toys to families in its fenceline communities that are most in need.
In communities from Cedros to Guayaguayare the Heritage team worked closely with local and central government representatives to provide families with food hampers and toys during the festive season. This is in addition to the company’s contribution of approximately TT$1.75 million dollars’ worth of food hampers throughout 2021
In a statement today, Heritage said employee volunteerism is fundamental element of the company’s operational philosophy.
The pandemic and the inability to congregate, has limited the type of sustainability projects that the Heritage Team can execute. Instead, employees have donated close to $250,000.00 of their own money to the food hamper drive as well as over four hundred and fifty toys to families for the 2021 Christmas season.
Heritage CEO Arlene Chow said, “The sustainable development of Heritage’s fenceline communities is tenet of the company’s operating philosophy. The Covid-19 pandemic has challenged the company and its employees to step up to meet the ever-changing needs of the communities in which we operate, and as a team we have accepted and embraced that challenge. I’ll like to thank the stakeholders who partnered with Heritage to make all our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in 2021 a success, and we look forward to continued partnerships in 2022. Merry Christmas T&T and a bright and prosperous 2022!”
Councillor Guayaguayare, Wendell Perez said, “Over the past 18 months the Covid-19 pandemic has negatively impacted many lives in the County of Mayaro….and Heritage walked the walk, by giving food support to over 100 families. This December, added to the food support were toys for boys and girls which will certainly bring Christmas cheer to the children of our community. For these kind gestures, we express our sincere gratitude and look forward to continue partnering with Heritage”
