Mayaro MP Rushton Paray will launch his slate to contest the UNC internal elections this Saturday.
The team is called “United Patriots” and Mr Paray says the decision to lead the slate came after extensive consultations with constituents and party members.
Paray, Tabaquite MP Anita Haynes-Alleyne and Cumuto/Manzanilla MP Dr Rai Ragbir will be contesting the post of deputy political leader. At present, MPs David Lee, Dr Roodal Moonilal and UNC Senator Jearlean John hold the posts of deputy political leader.
Senior Counsel Larry Lalla will be contesting the post of Chairman under Paray’s slate.
The incumbent is Dave Tancoo.
The launch will take place from 7pm at Signature Hall in Chaguanas.
The UNC internal elections are carded for June 15th, 2024.
