Police had to be called into the Mayaro area this morning as residents of Ortoire Village staged fiery protests over a lack of pipeborne water in the area.
The residents blocked the roadway with burning debris from as early as 3am, saying the last time they received a pipeborne water supply was more than three weeks ago on August 2nd.
They are demanding that the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) address their concerns immediately.
