Opposition Concerned Over Ag CoP Jacob’s Decision To Proceed On Leave

The Opposition is voicing concern with the decision of Acting Commissioner of Police, Mc Donald Jacob, to go on 35 days’ vacation leave.

Acting DCP, Erla Christopher, is now at the helm of the TTPS.

In a media release Mr Jacob said, “While I am on leave, I am confident that the commitment and dedication you have demonstrated over the past months will continue, you have shown me that you are fully invested and fully aware of your responsibilities”.

However, speaking at a news briefing today, Member of Parliament for Chaguanas West, Dinesh Rambally, expressed concern with the state of violent crime and murders in the nation.

MP Rambally said the government should call an election now if it is not able to manage the country’s affairs properly.
