Olympian held with 62.5 grammes of marijuana, loaded gun and ammo

A 32-year-old athlete who represented T&T at several games was charged with possession of an illegal firearm, ammunition and marijuana.

The sporting national represented the country at the Commonwealth Games and the Olympics Games.

According to the Trinidad Express the athlete is expected to make an appearance in court this week, after being taken into custody on Saturday afternoon by police officers.

Police reports state that during a anti-crime exercise in the vicinity of Debe Roundabout on the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway when they had cause to stop the athlete.

Officers allegedly found an illegal handgun loaded with four rounds of ammunition and 62.5 grammes of marijuana.
