Nursing Union Head suggests oxygen malfunction may have contributed to deadly COVID weekend

Head of the Nursing Association Idi Stewart says he has received reports that a facility within the SWRHA encountered difficulties with its oxygen equipment last weekend, the same weekend when the country recorded 48 COVID related deaths.

This was one of the highest 48 hour COVID death tolls seen in the country since the pandemic began.

He made the revelation while speaking this morning on Power 102 Digital’s Power Breakfast Show.

Mr Stewart is calling on the authorities to clarify the reports and come clean on the matter and suggested that the reports, if true, could have contributed to the number of deaths seen last weekend.

The claims were put to Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh who indicated that he will seek answers from the relevant Regional Health Authority on this issue.
