Nurses Association criticises Gov’t use of junior doctors and nurses in early Covid fight

Head of the Nursing Association, Idi Stuart, is criticizing the Government’s decision to use junior doctors and nurses in the early fight against COVID.

Mr Stuart told Power 102 Digital yesterday that the decision may have been to the country’s detriment.

He was at the time comparing Jamaica’s death rate which is similar to T&T’s despite having more than twice the population size.

Mr Stuart noted that the high rate of non-communicable diseases is one contributor.

The Nursing Association Head pointed to the use of junior staff in the early onset of the pandemic as another possible contributor to this country’s COVID death rate.
