No Warning In Effect For TT As Met Service Montors A Tropical Depression

There are currently no alerts, watches or warnings in effect for Trinidad and Tobago.

This update comes from the Meteorological Service of Trinidad and Tobago.

It says the active area of low pressure near the central Tropical Atlantic, east of the southern windwards has formed into a Tropical Depression.

At 11:00 am today, the National Hurricane Center upgraded the system to Tropical Depression status and the system is forecast to become a major hurricane by weekend.

The centre of the system is initially projected to track northwestward and moved north of the Eastern Caribbean islands later this week but could impact the Leewards.

The TTMS continues to monitor this area of low pressure and will issue an update at 8:30 am tomorrow or
earlier as significant development progresses.
