The National Minimum Wage has been increased from $17.50 to $20.50 per hour.
The Labour Ministry says no worker should be paid less than the hourly wage of $20.50 which equates to, $164.00 for an 8-hour workday, $820.00 for a 40-hour work week, and a monthly rate of $3553.33.
It says employers of Minimum Wage Workers are reminded of their obligations as outlined in the Minimum Wages Act Chap. 88:04, as follows: –
- Keep, maintain and retain wage records for a period of three (3) years in order to show compliance.
- Provide the Inspector with information about wages and terms and conditions of work.
- Allow the Inspector to inspect wage records and pay sheets
- Permit the Inspector to interview workers.
