National Security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds says there are sick, desperate people who want to destabilize the country.
He made the comment while responding to the explosion at Government Plaza, Port-of-Spain on Monday.
He told TV6 last evening that it was quite understandable that people would be concerned for their safety.
He referenced the voice note that was circulating, claiming that access to Port of Spain had been cut off and that Police Stations, namely the Besson Street Police Station, was under attack.
Minister Hinds said that the population could rest assured the TTPS was working to assure their safety.
The National Security Minister was in high praise for law enforcement an d their handling of the situation.
