The murder of 17-year-old Christopher Cummings, whose body was found near his home at Achong Trace, Tunapuna, on Tuesday, was gang-related.
Police said they came to that conclusion following preliminary investigations.
They say they are concerned that the killing might signal a resurgence of criminal gang activity in the area.
CEPEP workers found Cummings’ body at about 9.15 am on Tuesday hidden beneath two sheets of galvanize in a park.
Police are appealing to residents to contact the TTPS app, 999, 555 or 800 TIPS if they see any suspicious activity.
