Men ambushed, robbed after stopping to check car

Two men were ambushed and robbed of over $5,000 in cash and valuables yesterday morning.

According to Investigators around 4,30 am, Jevon Suarus, of Upper Bushe Lane, San Juan, and Nickel Maynard, of Ramoutar Avenue, Mt D’Or, were in a car travelling south along Harmony Hall Road, Gasparillo, when they heard a noise emanating from the vehicle.

When they stopped at the side of the road to check, three men, all armed with knives, approached the victims.

They robbed Suarus of $1,000 and one pair of Air Jordan max sneakers valued at $2,200. Maynard was also robbed of items valued at $2,000.

The men then fled by running through some nearby bushes. A team of officers led by PC Blenman searched but no one was held. Constable Balkaran is continuing investigations.
