Man without DP among 3 caught for DUI along Audrey Jeffers Highway

Police arrested three motorists Saturday for driving with a breath alcohol exceeding the prescribed limit.

Among those facing charges of Driving Under the Influence (DUI) are a 30-year-old man from Laventille and a 36-year-old man and a 40-year-old, both from Diego Martin.

The 30-year-old was also allegedly caught without a driving permit and a valid certificate of insurance and found to be driving dangerously.

According to police reports, between the hours of 11 pm on November 17th and 3 am on November 18th, officers attached to the Highway and Traffic Patrol Task Force executed a DUI exercise along the Audrey Jeffers Highway.

During the traffic duty, 30 drivers were stopped and tested for their breath alcohol during which the alleged offences were detected.

The exercise was coordinated by Cpl Haven.

Charges are expected to be laid soon.
