Man held with firearm and ammo in Carenage

Officers of the Western Division arrested one man and seized a firearm and a quantity of ammunition during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Carenage district.

Officers of the Western Division Task Force conducted the exercise on Thursday, during which they executed several search warrants, including one at the Abbe Poujade Street, Carenage home of a 22-year-old male suspect.

The search resulted in officers finding one pistol loaded with 12 rounds of ammunition in the man’s possession.

He was arrested in connection with the find; police say investigations are ongoing.
