MALF participates in the World Cocoa and Chocolate Day Expo 2023

The Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries (MALF) has highlighted its active participation at the World Cocoa and Chocolate Day Expo 2023, currently taking place at the Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Cultural Cooperation at Mount Hope, Valsayn.

Hosted by the Cocoa Research Centre (CRC) of the University of the West Indies, this extraordinary event celebrates the hardworking cocoa and chocolate producers who bring us the delightful array of chocolates and cocoa-based products we all enjoy. It serves as a platform to showcase and celebrate the achievements of Trinidad and Tobago’s cocoa producers and highlight the successes of our thriving, cocoa-based enterprises.

Attending today’s Expo on behalf of the MALF were the Minister in the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries, Senator the Honourable Avinash Singh; Permanent Secretary (MALF), Mr. Farook Hosein and Deputy Permanent Secretary (MALF), Mr. Ric Javed Ali. Their presence at the event, reinforces MALF’s commitment to economic diversification as well as its dedication to the transformation and sustainability of this vital agricultural sector.
