Machel ‘One Show’ gets ‘pong’ on social media

Machel Montano’s highly anticipated ‘One Show’ The Meeting Place has fallen into the hands of T&T’s social media pong aka bad reviews.

Several patrons took to Trini Twitter to express their opinions, views and concerns over the King of Soca’s One Show at the Harley Crawford Stadium on Fantastic Friday.

Persons complained that while gates were advertised to open from 7pm, huge crowds can be seen waiting outside in the general entrance from as late as 9pm.

When Machel said “40” he meant the number of hours you’d have to wait outside

Fas of the Soca star also began ponging him, dubbing it the ‘Burner Boy’ Soca edition, due to its start time, the layout of the event, the high ticket prices which they also complained did not include food and or drink.

However, in keeping with ‘Machel Monday’, food and or drink inclusive is never advertised.

my takeaway is that this was a machel Monday. this was a failure attempt of an afrofest. the concept couldve worked so well on a different day with a lower ticket price and a more focused target audience. as well as if machel wanted to have his show back he could’ve just said so

High ticket prices w no food/ drink incl, and no coolers allowed
Took 3 hours to open gate
Stadium flood lights on the entire time
Garbage garbage rubbish sound system with echo
Half the crowd sitting far away in the stands

Meanwhile there were fans in spite of the ups and downs enjoyed the show as the Soca icon touched the stage.

Iite. The beginning of the concert? 100% shaky. Poor organization all around.

But when Machel take the stage ?!?!?!? Yeah boy I forget all da lixx in the beginning 🥳🥳🥳 what a show

However there were some who argued that while performances were ok the entire production was not done properly.

Whoever say they enjoy Machel 40 lie!!! They damn lie. It was the worse! 3/10. Production was poor. Lines horrific. Sound system was a mess. At least the bathroom lines moved mad.
