Re–elected Political Leader Kamla Persad Bissessar and the Star Team are being congratulated for their landslide victory in the United National Congress internal elections.
The preliminary figures as of last night showed that approximately 13,000 people came out to vote.
The Star team received over 95% of the votes cast.
Constituency elections are the next internal elections scheduled for the party as the UNC continues to prepare for government.
On Sunday while voting in the UNC’ internal elections Persad – Bissessar predicted victory.
The media was allowed to capture the Opposition Leader as she cast her vote in the ballot box at the polling station at Parvati Girls Hindu College.
However she said there was always room for those who lost.
