Opposition Leader Kamla Persad Bissessar says Attorney General Reginald Armour must resign or be fired after he has “finally admitted to lying on” an affidavit!
Persad Bissessar said yesterday thta the AG’s statements confirm that he has brought his office and the country into grave disrepute, not just nationally, but throughout Caricom and internationally, via his dangerous lie.
She said by his own words, he has also admitted that he is simply unsuited and unqualified for the prestigious office he now sits in, at the sole behest of Prime Minister (Dr Keith) Rowley. He has also confessed to lacking competence, integrity and common sense.
Persad-Bissessar said she noted with “frank amazement and due concern” Armour’s latest media statement regarding his alleged “blatant lying on an affidavit” about his involvement as a defence attorney in the Piarco International Airport matter that is currently being litigated in the US courts.
The UNC leader said Armour opted to admit to his “legal sins” after weeks of “non-stop public pressure,” a draft Motion of No-Confidence against him by the Law Association and a Motion of No-Confidence against him being brought by the UNC in Parliament.
She claimed, it meant “he never had any intention of admitting to lying until he was forced to do so”.
