Joint Chambers: Tackling Crime Must Be Number One Priority

The Joint Chambers of Trinidad and Tobago says going into a new year, it will be intensifying efforts and will be reaching out to all stakeholders to find ways to constructively help bring the crime situation under control.

The Entity says dealing with crime will involve all of society and concerted action from many institutions and individuals.

In a media release on Thursday, the Chambers said in the past it lobbied for changes to legislation and policies in the hope this will help law enforcement and the judiciary reduce incidents of crime and improve the detection and conviction rate.

Given the current crisis, the Chambers said it is imperative  we all redouble our efforts to fight crime from all angles.
