THA Chief Secretary Farley Augustine is now a father.
He and his wife Ana welcomed a baby girl on January 3rd.
Augustine told media that the child, which was due in February, was born via emergency C-section and spent almost a week at the Scarborough General Hospital.
He admitted that his wife had encountered “quite a bit of complications, health challenges and so on,” and added that the ordeal has given a greater appreciation for women’s’ health issues.
“We got a beautiful baby girl and we are just grateful to God for everything.”
He said his wife and daughter have since been discharged and are doing well.
Augustine praised Dr Victor Wheeler and his team at the Scarborough General Hospital who did the surgery and delivery.
