Residents of the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) Building on Independence Square are currently staging a fiery protest.
Reports state that some residents were evicted, following which they began burning debris on the main road, headed into the city.
It is advised that drivers headed into Port of Spain from the main road use the highway instead.
The residents are being relocated as part of the East Port of Spain redevelopment project.
The HDC said all but 5 have been relocated already.
