Despite warnings made by the Commissioner of Police, Gary Griffith asking citizens not to gather in large numbers in light of the current COVID-19 regulations, hundreds turned out to bid a final farewell to Andrea Bharatt at the Eddie Hart Grounds in Tacarigua.
Andrea’s family, close friends and persons within the community have gathered to continue to stand in solidarity for women who have lost their lives to acts of violence and to part-take in a lantern ceremony.

However, Commissioner Griffith said that “effective October 12th 2020, Section 3 (1) states that during the period specified in Regulation 7, a person shall not, without reasonable justification- (a) be found at any public place where the number of persons gathered, at any time, exceeds ten.”
